In my opinion, most attractions in Guinea are far from Conakry itself, but still I enjoyed my short time in the city and I will share a few options to visit
Main places visited:
Soumbah waterfalls
Kaloum
Iles de Los (pending)
Soumbah waterfalls:
Guinea is a natural paradise but corruption does not let population profit from it
One hour far from Conakry the country is full of green areas, mountains, rivers etc
At approximately 2 hours from Conakry you can visit Soumbah waterfalls (in google maps "Soumbah" restaurant will lead you its entrance)
From Conakry three of us got a taxi to go and come back for 300,000 Guinean Francs (€30), spending there one hour
If possible, I would recommend going early so you can enjoy more time. However we could only go during the afternoon thus our limitations
Last 6km are in particularly bad condition and if it rains it can be difficult for a regular car to cross. Actually the taxi driver had to stop a few minutes to fix something in the car as it stopped working
Along the last part of the way there are a few houses and some local population living humblely
The place is worth it, they charged us 15,000 Guinean Francs (€1.5) and we enjoyed swimming there surrounded by nature
Kaloum:
Downtown Conakry leads to Kaloum
On the way to Kaloum and in Kaloum itself you can find several street markets
Along the Corniche there are several beaches. In some of them it is allowed to swim but not all are prepared for it
In Kaloum you can visit the Grand Mosque of Conakry, the largest in Subsaharian Africa
They do not like people taking pictures there so take care if you do. We did not know and we had some unconfortable minutes with some guards there
As far as I know, there is a Botanical Garden also nearby which might be nice but I did not have time yet
Iles de Los (pending):
I still did not have time to visit this Island but it is a popular destination
From Kaloum there are boats which cross to Iles de Los
